Description: Hemorphins, a family of atypical endogenous opioid peptides, are produced by the cleavage of hemoglobin β-chain. Hemorphins were proved to bind to the μ-opioid receptors (agonist) and angiotensin IV receptors (insulin-regulated aminopeptidase; IRAP) (inhibitor). Among the hemorphins, LVV-hemorphin-7 (LVV-H7) was found to be abundant and with a longer half life in the CNS.
